Julius began his academic journey with his undergraduate degree at the University of Konstanz. In his Bachelor thesis he studied the Ligand-Field Theory in Single Molecule Magnets (SMMs), gaining a deep understanding of their magnetic properties. Moving on to his Master's at the University of Freiburg, Julius added practical experience to his academic profile with an internship in Brazil focusing on "Educational Optics and Holography". His master's thesis, titled "Rotating Coherent Scattering (ROCS-) Microscopy" [Paper-Link], not only provided him with valuable laboratory experience but also refined his interface coding skills. In addition to his research pursuits, Julius has been actively involved in mentoring and guiding numerous students throughout their master's journey by sharing his extensive experience, and teaching them valuable insights and knowledge. He has co-authored a second paper on "Crystal Structures and Modeling of the Magnetic Properties" [Paper-Link].

Julius completed his PhD in the group of Prof. Waldmann, titled "Inelastic Neutron Scattering in Lanthanide Based Single Molecule Magnets". During which, he applied different numerical tools using a C-based coding program and explored different methods which investigated how computational cost can be decreased.
